‘november’ is a work in progress series of texts and image combinations aimed to materialise fleeting romantic experiences. As an extension of Bailey’s ongoing series ‘Zebra City’, this work utilises the same opening text from Jack Kareouac’s ‘On The Road’, (1957) to make a clear connection between the works and the notion that these experiences have significance despite their short duration.
The text in this series are excerpts from larger diaristic pieces of writing, describing the artist’s experience in further detail. Shortening these texts furthers Bailey's experiments with making artwork between fact and fiction. Their arrangement/display mimic the shape of the images that follow them.
